1) Interesting article, I do think change is required but I think we’ve got a long way to go to get the digital experience of students right. I also think we really need to think of the user and why they come to university, experience and developing skills are part of this https://twitter.com/timeshighered/status/1253549733282545666
2) the question of can we replace large lectures with vids student can watch themselves in Starbucks to me can’t be taken alone, it’s about the whole learning experience, the quality of the content and creating a community online
3) International students who bring so much to the UK, yes they bring income but also really add to student experience, how do we ensure they still come? Is there demand for this model?
4)Simply using a platform like moodle to put our learning online won’t replicate the experience on campus. Investment in technology is required, support with digital education development and putting students at the heart of what and why we are doing it too
5) I think things could be exciting but banks invested in digital, they brought it excellent user experience (UX) experts, look at why FinTech shook up the industry, they created an incredible digital experience - the UX needs to be key
6) invest in technology and people in particular UX, service deisgners, learning technologists and build much stronger partnerships with industry - students are investing in their future we need to support them to develop skills, knowledge and experience to succeed
