THE REAL 23

Riddle me this: would any of Lebron James' contemporaries utter these words after playing him: "that wasnt Lebron James on the court. That was God disguised as Lebron James." "God" is how 1st ballot HOFer & Celtics great Larry Bird described Michael Jordan.

Would any of Lebron's contemps say this about him?
Does any contemporary of Lebron James fear him? Two years straight, Kevin Durant hit game winning shots in Lebron James' face & stared him down after doing so. Well, that second one Lebron ran away from checking Durant.

The late hated BullsGM Jerry Krause once said of MJ, "the amazing thing about Michael that many don't know is he never asked me to trade for a player. He wanted to prove to everyone that he could beat you with anybody." Lebron was opposite. He stacked teams. Paper chips.

Michael Jordan never flopped on a basketball court. Lebron James routinely flops. Michael Jordan always wanted to play defense against the other team's best player. Lebron runs (again, think Durant & Warriors). On the biggest stage, MJ rose to the occasion. Lebron shrank.

Michael Jordan was undefeated in the finals and never went to a game 7. Beat everyone in 6. Lebron James is 2 shots away from being 1-7 in the finals & those two shots were not even made by him (Kyrie Irvin in 2016, Ray Allen in 2013). MJ was clutch. Lebron not much.

Lebron James' contemporary Kevin Durant recently said Michael Jordan would be the best player in the NBA today. Shots fired. Can you imagine any of Jordan's contemporaries making such a statement about him?

Get this: Jordan's 63pt 18 rebound 6 assist performance against the Celtics in that game for which Larry Bird called him "God" consisted of only two three pointers. MJ put teams to sleep with the midrange barrage of 2 pointers in an era where players rarely shot threes.

Full disclosure: for years I rooted for Lebron James to surpass Jordan. Time & time again, James would shrink on the biggest stage in clutch moments. His own friends, Carmelo Anthony & Chris Paul, criticized him once for passing on the last shot in the All Star game.

It was just never in him to do otherwise. No killer instinct. No mamba mentality, which is why for the life of me I can't understand why he was cast in Space Jam 2. If you can't beat the Dallas Mavericks, how in the hell you gone help the Looney Tunes beat the Monstars?

Savage time. If U were sick in a hospital w/Corona with no ventilator & your life depended on 1 man making 1 shot for 1 gasp of air, who you got? MJ or Lebron? Lebron would kill us all. God would save us. Praise God, I meant Mike. Lebron doesnt make my top 10. Fight me.
