Here is why Jalen Reagor was a good pick for the #Eagles with the in the #NFLDraft , a thread. People are getting too wrapped up around the fact that Reagor wasn’t productive in college. If you look at the measurables, he is a beast physically, and his 40 time is misleading.
Before the combine, Reagor added 11 pounds of muscle from his original playing weight of 195 at TCU to prove to teams that he could be a playmaker with added size. At his pro day on April 8th, he reportedly ran a 4.22 and a 4.28 in 2 separate attempts.
Perhaps he lost a portion of the 11 pounds he put on which helped speed him up? Who truly knows. But what we should know is that his playing speed is MUCH faster than his official 40 time at the combine. Here is a video to show you all what he is capable of.
Now lets get into another reason why he went under looked, he was the unlucky recipient of poor QB play in college which hurt his college production. In 2019, only 31% of Reagor’s targets were accurate and a whopping 33% were deemed uncatchable.
In the NFL, he will be fortunate enough to work with an elite QB who excels with his accuracy in tight windows. Here is how Wentz fared when throwing to targets in tight windows in 2019.
I truly believe that the Eagles made a great pick here and that pairing such a dynamic playmaker for Doug to scheme with an All Pro level QB will add amazing things to an Eagles offense. Please educate yourself before you judge the pick.
