This eaJ project is truly a blessing like how he's able to showcase his hidden talent in writing creative lyrics.

I always like Jae's lyric-writing style. The usage of words, his word plays. The music contrasting with and/or complimenting the words through listener's feelings.

I remember YK describing Jae's lyric-writing style saying Jae writes even smallest detail that conveys in more intimate& subtle way.

Jae uses realistic stuff that makes his lyrics more connected & closer to one's feelings.

That is why eaJ songs esp 50 proof hit us to the core

We all know Jae mumbles a lot but when you dig w/in his lyrics, u would know it's MORE than just that because dang he's mumbling jaenius lyrics.

His usage of words matches the expression every song conveys. Take note that we're still yet to talk about wordplay& elements he uses.

In the past eaJ songs, started with LA Trains, the title might seem ordinary but the lyrics..

I like how the lyrics "so do these streetlights and so do you" are a simile which he compares 'you' to the 'moment that shines beautiful' in first line...

talking also about X lyrics..

t'was a jaenius act that he left us all hanging w/ X lyrics. he lets the listener find it themselves what X is until it became LA Trains' trademark.

The impact of X was no joke& we're still yet to decipher it

but whatever X is, sure it's a 3-word line from a jaenius lyricist.

On the other note, Otherside w/ longest lyrics among eaJ songs so far, got some lines with great elements as well:

"sometimes i think about you,
even in midst of good news" he's referring to the girl that was his past/sad memory that he still thinks of even in happy/ good news.

another line from otherside,

"I die a little
everytime I reach out and it's cold"

may seem an hyperbole statement bc of "i die a little" but may also refer to how he feels every time he reach out/hug someone that's not physically on his other side, it's "cold"= no one, nothing.

if you're not the type who digs deep into lyrics, then you will know what's what in Pinocchio just by looking at the title itself. A song with lies.

"say that i don't love you
so extends my nose" clearly says he's lying and it doesn't make sense..

the line in which it says she's heartless to him "but pinocchio can't get off the island stuck silent" tellin' he can't do anything but just stuck loving her, followed by "I want nothing but you"

Pinocchio's lyrics is relatable to couple who keep lying about their love for e/o.

Pinocchio and Truman might have same vibe to me and its titles scream metaphor but i'm still waiting for official lyrics (if he'd ever drop it

) for me to compare the two.

truman contrasting pinocchio at some points like "it may be games to you" to "please just play along"

I'm in latter 3 songs that is definitely 3 top-tier lyrics for me... Guess Not, Rose and 50 proof.

Guess Not's first 4-line lyrics already got me like WOAH THOSE GODLY METAPHORS

"feels like God's been upset all night long, rain won't stop" God's tears = rain.

"pouring so my shirt just won't dry off, but i'm inside" such a strong metaphorical lyrics to me cuz this compliment the first 2-line. The "but i'm inside" hits me as if it's raining outside but he's inside&still shirt won't dry off cuz it's his tears that's pouring on his shirt.

Another strong lines in guess not:

"burned my heart in the sky so you'd see your crime"
"I hurt me, hoping you hurt too"

No explanations needed, these lyrics are just straight heart-wrenching lines.

The eaJ song which tops my heart lyric-wise, Rose. Its lyrics already got me blown even at the time he shared some of its lyrics in his IG live. By that time, I already know it will be my fave...

but little did i know, i will love it more after it's fully released...

I'm deeply immersed in every line of Rose so i might talk about each line of it bc why not. It was beautifully written. How life goes.

Beginning it with:
"for the times when they hit you"

'They' might be really people/waves (personified) like walls blocking u to go on in life.

"facedown in the ground with the wetsuit" they way he describes what is it like to be hit by waves.. he even uses sense of direction as u feel down. pointing out how jae always uses metaphor to something you wears, like the 'shirt' in guess not and now in rose...

wetsuit=sweat/tears/just typical wetsuit surfers wear (a surfer trying to win over strong waves)

"plant seeds but the tree never grow fruit" rlly like this line for he uses seeds/tree=effort/hardwork, the "never grow fruit" line

no one's appreciating the fruit of the hardwork.

I can personally relate to this

"shouting but they all got you on mute"

you feel like shouting everything you feel but no one seems to ever hear you

that's really sad part of life story. keeping all in your own.

and so it continues to 2nd stanza bc nothing really makes sense.. it could just be really you that's crazy overthinking over life.. no one understands.

but the thing about rose's lyrics that lifts me, or can really lift everyone up is the last stanza, a powerful stanza.

"don't you know that nothing's really ever beautiful
we're all just broken windows
what you see depends from where
you set your eye"

in the MV, reference of 'Little Prince' was used, "it is only the heart that one can see rightly" and that's indeed /insert jae voice/ TRUUUU

but jae adds some spices to it, "nothing's really ever beautiful, we're all just broken windows" that sht hits hard cuz yeah we all broken hoomans trying to get through life.. "what you see depends from where you set your eye"

rlly it's only urself who can decide what you see.

depending on how you can see life:

"i could see my blood on the floor or it might just be a rose." - my fave

you decide it your own if you will keep seeing blood on the floor=negative/dark side of life or you'll decide to see it as a rose=positive/bright/better side of life.

I will forever be in awe for jae and his way of words. Will also be always grateful that he adds lyrics into the description in his yt channel cuz yo girl always has her hard times understanding jaeish. His language

my current jaem, to stay the sadness within me is 50 proof.

50 proof for me, issa song that speaks and expresses real feelings.

I didn't mention from past threads that I lowkey like how one of j's lyric-writing styles involves rhetorical questions. Questions expecting no answers in return like how he used in otherside and 50 proof.

The weight of each question in 50 proof are just too heavy that my heart can't take

not for longingness but a worrisome for someone you missed, someone you can't take care of anymore

worried if that person's sleeping alright, worried if tears still wake that person at night.

dying to know who loves the person you used to love now that you're not at his/her side anymore cuz if not you, who will he/she eat with, who will watch movie with him/her, who holds him/her when drunk (50 proof high), who will wipe the tears for him/her.

those questions

last stanza hits differently for again, it uses strong metaphor as it adds literal sense, more detailed & complex description that leads the listener into depth experience.

"who wipes the problems
like leaves turned autumn
whey they start falling
from your eye&from your sighs"

how 50 proof ends w/ "who loves you now" makes more sentimental attachment between the listener & someone whom the listener dedicates the song to.

a question u don't know u will ever get an answer but u'd still keep asking until u know who already love the person u used to love.

also, i must not forget how i really like how eyes&sighs rhyme

j does not use lotsa rhyming words and that amazes me more cuz it still sounds good in ears even with the absence of sounds-like words. so far i like:

eyes-sighs
wetsuit-fruit-mute
lately-turkey-big3-worthy

Will point out some if my braincells and time permit but I'm waiting for Truman's lyrics for now. I've been seeing lyrics based from fans' but I will never be sure about it cuz jae's language is somehow deceiving. It's different from how we hear it to how it actually is
