Y’all ever wonder why we search four soulmates and need them so much? Here’s a thread explaining why
Okay so this is based off of Plato’s theory. It’s heavily influenced from Greek Mythology.
Long ago there were only 3 genders male and female and a combination of the two called androgyny. We were double sided with 4 arms 4 legs and two faces. We were double males and double female and then some were male and female.
The three genders at the time were modeled after things. The males were modeled after the sun, women the earth, and both male and female together were modeled after the moon. The moon was thought to be a combination of the sun and earth.
At this time the humans were very powerful. Being doubled gave them twice as much strength. They invaded mount Olympus (where Greek Gods stayed) this angered the Greek gods. But the Greek gods couldn’t kill the humans.
If the Greek Gods killed the humans they wouldn’t have anyone to worship them. They needed to be worshiped. So they had to come up with a way to defeat the humans without killing them.
Zeus decided that it would be best to split the humans apart. He firgured that by splitting the humans in half, they would be less powerful but twice as helpful.
After splitting them up he asked Apolo to help put them back together. Apolo healed the humans and made them meet in the middle after healing. He left only our belly buttons as a reminder.
the humans were once whole and now they’re split. So they spend all their time to find their other half, literally. This is why we look for ourselves in others. We’re missing a part of ourselves.
