In a statement, Ashton Kutcher confirms that he's "good friends" with the CEO of Qualtrics, one of the companies working on Iowa's testing plan. He said he believes Qualtrics has an approach to testing that gets around the shortages in reagents slowing them down elsewhere ...
He says the approach was in line with recommendations he'd seen from a tech company in which he has invested, Radix Labs, which is not a party to Iowa's deal. "This methodology solved the issue. They were already proving it in Utah and getting folks tested at a rapid rate."
He said he was already talking to @iagovernor about tightening up Iowa's "stay-at-home orders" because he had seen data showing the virus spreading fast. (Iowa is one of the few states w/o a statewide stay-at-home order but closed schools, some businesses and banned gatherings)
He said he also suggested she connect with TestUtah team. "Governor Reynolds jumped at the chance and moved fast to implement. When the federal government is playing hunger games with the states during a pandemic, we have to get creative."
