Okay I'm sick of my timeline being filled with girls ranting about Maulana Tariq Jameel.
Yes he commented about women's clothing.
He's a molvi. And his job is to remind the ummah of what Allah has said.
And behaving like that's all he's ever done won't do you any good.
Don't forget that he's also the only prominent molvi in Pakistan who's spoken up against honour killings in numerous khutbahs
He's also one of the few molvis who have called men out for creating a culture of zina themselves and then punishing their women for it.
He's also the molvi who has spoken numerous times about the importance of husbands expressing love to their wives in a culture where it's
Frowned upon.
I don't understand why all of a sudden everyone is outraged?
Everything was rainbows and daisies when he called men out.
But when he says that Allah ordered a certain kind of clothing for women, you wanna be angry??
He's a scholar and he's doing his job.
He can't just give you half the picture just bcz you have an issue with the rest of it.

We're imperfect yes, and we can't follow all of islam, and that's ok. But stop bashing someone cuz they showed you the whole picture.
Im not saying that there aren't other pressing issues in the country that should be spoken about..
They should be spoken about.
Child marriages, sexual assault, acid attacks, these are all important and they need to be spoken about.
But go attack other molvis who've never taken a stand and call them out for their double standards.

But for a scholar who has repeatedly spoken for women, it's shameful that now we wanna bash him just cause he reminded us of the clothing Allah has prescribed for us..
And bashing a well meaning individual is no way to start a conversation about those bigger issues.

I'm massively vocal avout those issues myself. But I just don't see how this is the right way.
P.s.: dear men who have never in their life taken a stand for women and their issues, pls stop liking this thread you hypocrites.
