1/The Matrix is among everyone's favorite films, but people don't underst it. It's rooted in the Great Chain of Being of the Perennial Philosophy that Integral Theory updates (the working title for Matrix 4 was "Integral Matrix"). Evolution from body to mind (ego) to Spirit--God.

2/The machines were Spirit--God. The humans were egos--stuck in identification w the mind--the mental self-image, disassociated from their bodies & repressed emotions (Zion). This is why in Matrix 3, Neo was blinded but described the machines as made of "light." The ego alienates

3/humans from their bodies & is ultimately in conflict w Spirit--God. When the ego (Neo) asks the machines for peace, they immediately cease the conflict, & all become one in the sunrise. The only time Lana Wachowski admits this, in an interview w Wilber.
