TikTok follows the same pattern of political censorship as western social media companies, despite being owned by the Chinese.

Here's why [1/5] https://twitter.com/NickJFuentes/status/1253424688560128001
It's true that Chinese censors don't care much about the priorities of western SJWs. They have other concerns: Uighurs, Hong Kong protesters, Tibetan independence advocates, the Falun Gong, Tiananmen square talk, etc.

However, TikTok wants to succeed in the U.S [2/5]
Because of that, TikTok's western arm operates in much the same vein as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube. That includes hiring the same content moderators who censor you on those platforms.

TikTok also doesn't want to be banned from the app stores. The status quo prevails. [3/5]
Western elites & media will attack TikTok for censoring Chinese dissidents.

But they'll also attack TikTok for *not* censoring the usual suspects in the west, just as they did Twitter, FB, YouTube, etc.

Free speech is for foreign dissidents, not Americans! [4/5]
Every new platform that grows to a sufficient size will censor. Chinese companies trying to succeed in the US will follow American censorship norms, just as western companies do in China.

We return to the same solution: industry-wide regulation! Section 230 reform![5/5]
