My wife and I have been using @instacart for 4 days to make a little money & to deliver groceries to people who can’t get out in this time. @NCFarmBureau isn’t okay with us helping people and making money to get through COVID-19.

Tuesday, while out on delivery a deer runs out in the day light and hits my 3 week old car. Yes it’s a Tesla, no it wasn’t in auto pilot. Instantly I’m sad that my new car has been messed up, I have people’s groceries in the car, and the deer died. @NCFarmBureau

So I call the police and a highway patrol officer comes to the scene. She verified everything that happen and filed an accident report. My wife was communicating with the family telling them we were delayed with their groceries and would be there as soon as we safely could.

I call the @tesla center in Raleigh to get an appointment to get our car fixed. The model Y is a new car and @tesla is the only one with the parts. Skip to today and a @NCFarmBureau claims agent calls me.

The agent asks me more about what I was doing and why I was driving than about the accident. I felt it was strange but didn’t think too much of it. Then the @NCFarmBureau agent called me again later that day.

In my original phone call I told the @NCFarmBureau agent that I had been out delivering groceries. So this lady calls me back casually and tells me I need to tell her everything again so they have my statement on file.

Again I think nothing of it. So I tell the @NCFarmBureau agent I was driving in the day time around 1:25pm and a deer ran out and struck my car. She said where were you? I told her the location, she asked why were you there?

I repeated I was delivering groceries, never thinking that was a bad thing. After making me state my name and info the @NCFarmBureau agent tells me she stopped recording the call.

IMMEDIATELY AFTER SHE STOPPED RECORDING she proceeds to tell me I won’t be covered because using apps aren’t covered by @NCFarmBureau. How in the world was I supposed to know that?!

First I’m upset because my new car is messed up in the shop for a week+, all the money I made from instacart now has to go to the deductible. I’m okay with all that, things happen. But then this lady from @NCFarmBureau

Tells me I’m out of luck for trying to help people and making money to stay a float while my job is slow and my wife is waiting for things to reopen to get a job. @NCFarmBureau has to have the worst values of any one out there.

It shouldn’t matter what I’m doing, if I hit a deer THATS NOT MY FAULT. But @NCFarmBureau has showed them selves to be a company that’s not on my side and not trying to help people in this time.

That being said if you have @NCFarmBureau I would highly reconsider them. This lady coerced me into saying what she wanted me to say on the record then stopped recording to tell me I’m screwed.

Sounds to me like that’s business as usual for @NCFarmBureau So again I urge you to find other insurance if you have them or are considering them.
