I have something important I want to say about this community so read this thread
when I first joined this community I had a toxic mentality that my island had to be perfect within a week. I felt so much pressure and honestly I have felt that pressure up to today. seeing everyone with finished islands etc is nice but also to me made me feel like my +
island was crap because it didn't have fancy things in it. I think a lot of us have that mentality. today i realised that actually i wasn't enjoying the game because of it. it's called "island life" to live on an island, not have a perfect island in a few weeks. i enjoy doing +
the daily tasks and collecting wood, collecting shells, fishing, catching bugs, checking in with my villagers, tending to my flowers etc. I honestly was going to stop doing all that to focus only on the image of my island and the aesthetic of it to finish it quicker +
but then I realised I literally have ALL YEAR to build my dream island. I want to enjoy the game and go at my pace. so today I started to do things, all I achieved today was a small fairy space outside my house and a diy and fruit stall by the airport as I was busy +
collecting things and trading with friends etc. I honestly enjoyed the game so much more tonight than I have previously. I am now focusing on very small areas of my island at a time and some days I might not even get to decorate it and that's okay!! I'm going at my pace and +
I feel happier. there is a toxic mentality on here and I hope everyone will learn to go at their pace and enjoy their island rather than perfecting it. the same with villagers, dreamies and a dream island are endgame - long term goals but island life is here and now!!
i hope that you reading this can take 1 day playing how I did today and see if you feel better playing that way. it's a game not a competition and your island is beautiful as is even if it's full of weeds and whatever else, I LOVE IT! because i know it isn't your dream island yet
