Just thought I would show you guys what it looks like to send polite criticism to people who make a thing that bothers you: https://twitter.com/letsturndayglo/status/1252452212678299649
It is ok to have an opinion. It is ok to @ creators with that opinion, in a kind manner, if you are hoping for a response. If you are not interested in the creator’s response, because you think the creator sucks, then express your opinion in your space, minus tagging the creator!
If you are not interested in my opinion on something I created that is totally 100% fine. In fact, I personally don’t give one fuck about a writer’s intention when I consume content! I only care about my own interpretation!
Since I don’t care what the writer thinks, I don’t go to the writer’s Insta and leave a comment like “did you really think that —— was okay to do?” Because a question about what the writer thinks indicates that I care to receive an answer about what the writer thinks. I don’t.
(But perhaps I might go to the writer’s Instagram account, see comments indicating that other people enjoyed the thing I hated, realize that my opinion is an opinion and not a fact, and then go express my opinion in places where people are interested in my opinion!)
