i just wanna say: write what you wanna write.
i& #39;ve been seeing people i follow and don& #39;t follow say they& #39;re worried about people not wanting to read their fics because: people won& #39;t be interested -or- they& #39;ll get backlash

listen to me: not every corner of fandom has to be inclusive. the people who consume your content... it is on them to decide if they like it or not, and it& #39;s on them if they read something they went in knowing they weren& #39;t going to like in the first place.
but i can say that there IS an audience out there for you. there will be someone who wants to read that pairing you want to write, especially if it& #39;s a rarepair.
in the event you do receive backlash, you don& #39;t have to invite it. you can screen your comments on your ao3. turn anon off on your curious cat if you& #39;d like and delete the messages that are harassing you. my advice is to not acknowledge these people; they are hydras.
as for those who see people creating content they aren& #39;t happy with... i strongly advise you to mute or block their twitter, then moving on with your life.
it is your responsibility to control the content you want to consume in fandom. take accountability for ur experience

granted there ARE circumstances in which there are teachable moments to guide a creator into understanding what they& #39;re doing is Not Okay,
