I'm old, so I actually remember when no one was celebratory about Anzac Day. I'm maintaining that same regretful feeling about it my whole life. Not sure where all these gung-ho buggers came from recently.

I still think most people have the regret foremost and the gung-ho buggers are the loudest. The Mike Hoskings of Anzac Day, so to speak.

Anyway I know that I'm not the target audience but everyone's hectoring WAR IS TERRIBLE ACTUALLY ANZAC PEOPLE YOU ARE IDIOTS stuff on Twitter at around this time kinda of makes me grumpy. I fucking KNOW. WWI was a shit bloodbath. It was the WORST. Obviously.

Basically everything about the day makes me tired and sad.
