I live on a small homestead where my wife and I run a hobby farm. We do not derive a significant portion

of our income from it, it's mostly for fun, so we definitely don't consider ourselves "farmers" because our mortgage still gets paid if the crops fail or the livestock doesn't sell. Real farmers deserve that title, not entitled middle class folks like us.

With that, we slaughter

and butcher a portion of our own meat and hope to increase that in the coming years. I post pictures and how-to's when I do. I try and give a 24 hour warning if it's planned. My kid and I hunt small game on occasion and hunt/trap predators that attack or try to kill our animals.

Pretty solidly moderate here, I'll likely vote Blue for the first presidential election of my life this year, but would love to be Republican again if they unfucked themselves. VERY pro gun, (licensed collector with 50+ firearms) but for common sense gun control (not having that

debate here). I am pro-choice, pro-death penalty, pro-prison reform, pro-marijuana legalization, pro-immigration reform. I believe we have a duty to protect the most vulnerable at home and abroad where we can do so without becoming entangled in occupation. I believe Obama failed

the Syrian people, Trump doubled down on that failure, and that anyone who supports Bashar al-Assad or his regime is a shit-pretzel and can get off my timeline. If your religion compels you to be a better person, I have no quarrel with you. If your religion compels you to do evil

or tell me how to live my life, you need to get the fuck away from me. I spent almost a decade as a Marine infantryman, and it was a defining part of my life, but it's not who I am, and it doesn't shape how my future will be. I'm fiercely proud of my teenage kids, unabashedly

aware that I do not deserve my wife, and extremely committed to my friends and family. I curse a lot. I tweet extensively about proliferation of arms to non-state actors and the tactical underpinnings of insurgent successes and failures. I do not tolerate racism, bigotry, or the

slamming of religion, especially as many of the people I follow or who follow me are kind pious individuals who deserve to be able to scroll my timeline without seeing any of the above. Tankies, go the fuck away. Wu-Tang is the greatest hip hop group ever. Anyway, that's me.
