Dear Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, Being born in the early 20’s I didn't get to watch enough of you-the magical batsman, though having a family where everyone's a cricket-freak you surely end up watching lots of Sachin stuff while growing up. I am really glad it was so!
Sachin Tendulkar has been that name this nation kept talking about for years and need not tell they still do and would never stop because such was your aura! It was you on the field playing those effortless shots,I would call magic now, such was the pleasure to watch you bat.
The not-so tall young boy with curly hair and innocent face, faced some of the most deathly bowlers back then with such confidence and high spirits, like he was announcing that it's what he has always wanted to do and now when he has got the opportunity,he'll not let it go in vain.
You grabbed your opportunity well and actually so well that noone could have imagined it back then,as you turned out to be called the 'God of cricket' later. You came, you made records and now you're sitting somewhere patiently, waiting for those records to be broken.
The Sachin-Sachin chants in the stadium is a major missing now, with the intensity of goosebumps on hearing it exactly the same as it was when you actually played. The day you finally decided to retire from the game,so many hearts were broken.
It was never easy to watch someone who gave his everything to the game, who not just played but lived every bit of it leave the field for the final time. The WC victory lap,you on the shoulders of Yusuf and Virat, the Indian flag, the satisfaction still makes us smile wide.
You are undoubtedly one of the bestest batsman and human India is gifted with. And now we just have nothing but a big thankyou for you to carry so many dreams on your shoulder for years so efficiently and making them come true,we'll forever be indebted to you.
You were the hero of the country then and you'll forever be one. We loved you then ,we love you now and we'll love you always!❤ @sachin_rt
