Dean is in love with Cas BECAUSE:

A THREAD:

1. He didn't wanna believe that Cas betrayed them. He didn't wanna believe that Bobby and Sam might be right. That Cas worked with Crowley behind their backs.

2. He visited "Steve" and created an excuse for Sam so he doesn't come with him. He tried convincing Cas that he should come back to him.

3. In Endverse, Endverse!Dean never let Cas out of his sight. He had sexual relations with him. He got jealous when Cas laughed bc past!Dean said that Dean is torturing people again.

4. Cas was the first one to hear his concerns about opening the first seal when he made the deal for Sam to come back from death and went to Hell.

5. Dean kept Cas' trenchcoat during season 7. They changed cars regularly but he never failed to bring the trenchcoat with him.

6. Dean couldn't kill Cas while he was mostly controlled by the MOC. He just could not kill him.

7. Dean prepared a second nightstand in case human!Cas comes and stays in the bunker. In case he sleeps with him in his bed. That second nightstand was gone when he became an Angel again.

8. Dean was searching for Cas in Purgatory for a year and when he met him at that lake he was super happy.

9. Dean helped Cas stay upright even after he made so many mistakes and killed people and Angels while having souls roaming around him in s7. He still made sure he is okay.

10. Dean made his own version of events about the leaving of Purgatory and DIDN'T want to believe that Cas stayed there on his own accord. He thought he failed him.

11. Dean prayed to Cas even when he was very sketchy while Cas was working with Crowley. Sam even called him out to it.

12. Dean was jealous when "Emmaunel" had a wife and found out he forgot about him. He was so upset when he found out and made sure he remembered him again. ESPECIALLY him.

12. When April (the Reaper Cas had sex with) killed human!Cas he was so worried that he died for real (he did, btw). When he came back, he said "Never do that again!".

13. Don't make me start about 12x20 - 13x05. Cas' real death and the toll it took on him. He gave up. For real.

14. Dean kept seeing Cas after he got out of Purgatory. He thought it's a déjà-vu of sorts but when Cas really came back? He was delighted.

15. When Dean got snatched frim Zachariah's arms and into Cas' safe one's he was so happy to meet Cas. He even said "Don't ever change."

16. He was happy that Cas gave up his Army of Angels because of him. He was even more sure that Cas didn't order those "su*c*de b*mbers" of angels to k word themselves. (sorry, fbi)

17. He prayed to Cas when he thought he was gone for real (when the souls took over him and he k worded people with that). He even went to a CHURCH. The place he doesn't believe in the most.

18. He missed Cas so much that he prayed to him when he needed him the most anf when he didn't come immediately (like always) he got sad and looked over at the chair (in his room) he always sat in.

19. He got saved by Cas so many times. He got protected by Cas so many times. Always for him, always because of him.

20. When Naomi took over Cas' sanity after Purgatory, he begged for Cas to hear him. Because he knew that's not HIS angel.

21. When the musical about SPN happened and he asked what the Angel and Dean are doing while hugging and the girl said "oh, no. Shivan and Kristen are a couple in real life", he didn't complain about the casting. He was totally okay with it.

22. Cas is always the first species/person he talks to about his deep feelings when it comes to stuff. He listens to Cas, and he appreciates their talks as much as Cas does.

23. He gave Castiel a nickname after the first 3 episodes. Which equaled 3 days. He didn't give any other angel a nickname that fast.

24. He was super sad when Cas took Sam's schizophrenia. He couldn't believe it took Cas' sanity, too. He wanted HIS angel back.

25. He always produces excuses about what he feels about him, but his body language tells something else EVERY TIME.

26. He couldn't tell Cas about the Ma'lak Box. He knew Cas would be super upset. He wanted to tell him one-on-one but he found out already and saw how close to tears Cas was. (I hate interrupting moose for breaking the moment right when that happened)

27. Every time Cas is close to death or danger he might not recover from, he gets super concerned and behaves like a spouse worried about his partner.

28. He didn't blink about the "being owned by Cas via carved rips". He was actually okay with it if it meant protection.

29. He didn't tell Cas to remive the hand print on his shoulder. He was sorta okay with it. He was hating the spear marks from Michael!Dean's encounter with Dark!Kaia. But Cas' hand print? Nope. Nothing. All was good.

30. Dean was JUST possessed by Apocalypse!Michael and STILL allowed Cas to enter his memories and find out what happened with the spear marks. He trusted him 100% ti find out and roam around his head.

31. In Purgatory Dean forgave him for being so angry at him. For letting out his frustration on him and making him leave. He even cried because he was terrified that Cas' might have died and never heard his prayer.

32. Dean hugged him super close and happily and talked to him and wanted to ADD something to his prayer but Cas stopped him. And all of this with 22 MINUTES TO SPARE AND GET OUT OF PURGATORY AGAIN.

33. In 5x03 Dean flirted with Cas. And he was disappointed Cas didn't understand the Thelma and Louise reference.

34. When Cas was possessed by Lucifer and Amara wanted to kidnap him (Lucifer) just so she could get Chuck to come to him, Dean screamed Cas' name. As a reminder for Cas to hear him. That he is here and he will get him outta there.

35. Dean couldn't believe that Cas willingly decided for Luci to possess his vessel, too. He just could not believe that he let Satan into his vessel. He was sure that Cas was tricked into it. That he didn't do this on purpose.

36. When the Angel's fell (and Dean knew they would hunt him to death) he said "look out for yourself, for once!" because he knew that he always looked out for Dean (and Sam) and he begged him to be careful.

37. When Dean thought that he might d word from the soul b*mb he hugged Cas and got sad bc he might never see his Angel again.

38. When he came back, alive and well, he hugged Cas and was so delighted he could hug his Angel again. He was actually very happy.

39. When his mom was about to shoot Cas (even though it wouldn't have k word-ed Cas) he made sure that his Angel didn't get shot and stopped Mary from shooting Cas.

40. When AU!Michael left Dean's body he was happy to see Cas again. [Them eyes screamed "hello, love" and you can't tell me otherwise]

41. When Cas pulled out his wild-card abilitues right in front of Chuck's salad (in s4), Dean started falling for his Angel bc he started being in TFW so casually.

42. When Cas died in 12x20, Jack was born and Jack honestly saw how devastated Dean was, he literally made Cas come back to life. Dean awoke Cas indirectly through Jack.

43. I don't wanna write the quote or I will ugly sob so hard rn but you know exactly which quote I'm thinking about, right? The "Now YOU may be able to forget about that, BUT I CAN'T!" that one.

44. Dean made Cas a frigging mixtape bc that's how he communicates love. That's what his (no-good) father made for his mom to impress her and make her fall in love. That's what he knows and that's what he chose to do.

45. Dean gave Cas the First Blade because he trusted him the MOST with it. Even though Sam was RIGHT THERE. (Let's ignore that Crowley was there, too, bc he has no emotional significance to this)

46. Dean didn't get confused at Cain's comparison with Colette to Cas. He didn't say "now, wait a minute, that's not what we are!".

47. He didn't deny any implications of Cas being his boyfriend. Ever. Not by demons, not by Angels. Not. Even. Once.

48. When Dr. Sexy MD happened in "Changing Channels"Dean got all nervous, but when MOC!Dean saw Cas posing as a Doctor he was comfortable and admiring his ability to blend in perfectly.

49. He literally called Cas "Huggy Bear". Twice. Just saying.

50. Dean let an Angel statue fall and liked it, but the second Cas showed up he was guilty and ashamed he let the statue fall.

51. He made Cas watch the movie "Tombstone". "I'm your Huckleberry" is all I'm gonna say to this.

52. Cas is literally Dean's win. When Cas came back from the dead, he was happier than ever. Smiled, got his Cowboy kink showing on main and and was just overall happy.

53. After Cas began being Team Free Will, Dean looked at Cas ina different way, better way. He didn't see him as an asshole like with all the other Angels (except for Balthazar and Samandriel). He looked at him closer, more interested.

54. The many times Dean looked at Cas' lips AND eyes is another story entirely.

55. That ONE time Dean stared at Cas for about 10 seconds straight. That was so unnecessary, but very important to observe.

56. When Dean wanted to get through to Cas while Lucifer was possessing his vessel, he screamed for Cas. He was soft immediately ehen Cas came through and he almost cried when he was gone again.

57. When Lucifer got out of Cas' vessel and Dean harshly hit "Lucifer" and after he discovered that it's actually Cas he became soft immediately. AGAIN.

58. Dean's "You're dead to me" turned to "Of course, I forgive you." in about (14x18 - 15x09) 11 episodes. Half a season. But only because of his anger issues, not because of Mary's death. Which still counts because he alienated Cas and that was unfair.

59. He couldn't believe that Cas didn't trust him with the Angel tablet. He was very upset about that bc he trusted him with The First Blade. And Cas didn't return the favor.

60. "Don't make me lose you, too" added with a sad and solemn face and Dean being close to tears while he said that sentence.

61. While crazy!Cas was happening Dean forgave Cas for taking Sam's schizophrenia and taking in the insanity of the whole situation and said "I'd rather have you - cursed or not." before they fought against Dick Ramon (Leviathan boss).

62. Dean, the - I-don't-pray and the In-my-book-it's-the-same-as-begging, prayed to Cas every night when he was in Purgatory (for a whole year).

63. In an alternative (falsified) universe Dean buried MOC!Cas on his own and later gave up hunting and saving people's lives. Because he thought they don't matter anymore, and what they do makes worse consequences than better ones. Which parallels to 13x05's scene with Billie.

64. Dean can't live "normally" after Cas dies. Granted it only happened once in his universe and once he had bury him alive (which counted to him as death; and was a falsified AU anyway). In Purgatory when Dean prayed to Cas (and cried) he was terrified he would lose him.

65. Oh, and let's not forget THIS was directed at Cas: (which means he got turned on by Cas' stern/dominant look and pointed it out; also because he thought it's his last day on Earth and he flirted on main)

66. This also happened in 5x03: (why he made a Bert and Ernie's reference in this context I will never know but I will understand via subtext)

67. "Nice fuzzy peach". Yeah, and he hated Sam's beard with every fiber of his being.

68. This was his confession towards Father Delaney in 10x16. He didn't have a canon love interest back then, OTHER than Cas (which is still not canon btw). First time means - in a way he never felt before (because it's gay).

69. (Ignore the quote) Cas once watched porn and said why the pizza man slaps the babysitter's ass. After that moment, he kissed Meg (???) and said "I learned it from the pizza man." This sign (which is huge btw) is a hint towards this.

70. The intro of 15x12 was about the same plot and showed a few moments of Dean eating pizza. Draw of it what you will.

71. In "Changing Channels" Cas came to rescue Dean and Sam from the loop of The Trickster (which was Gabriel) and after Gabriel snapped Cas out of the view, Dean was super concerned about Cas' well-being. And even demanded Gabriel to get Cas out of wherever he was.

72. Dean called Cas "sunshine" way too many times, that Sam wasn't surprised of his petname for Cas. It was like a common day.

73. In 14x13 (the 300th episode) John came from the past and up until Cas didn't recognize Dean, Dean was fully okay with the changes. The second Cas didn't know him he fought for their own timeline back.

74. Dean once called Cas "devastatingly handsome" in front of EVERYONE at the table. (Granted he wanted to make him look cute to the waitress, but he could've chosen different vocabulary ).

75. Ishim tested Dean's love by challenging him to wipe him off of Earth with the Angel-Yeeting-Sigil. Of course, Dean didn't go through. Nothing to be the one responsible for his Angel's death.

76. Dean's "wtf" face. This is not a wtf-face. This is a "oh my god, he really forgot me and married a woman" face. This is a jealousy face. This is a "I can't believe you did this to me" face.

77. Dean's talk to Cas while he had Au!Michael trapped in his mind. He is always open to Cas. He always talks to Cas about his feelings and thoughts. And never fails to be deep about it.

78. When Dean tried to "fix" Cas' betrayal towards them and help him. He always tried to find a solution when it came to Cas. This is ONE example of many.

79. This also happened. I'm not quite sure if this was when Luci!Cas got exposed by Sam and Dean is trying to tell Lucifer what's going on. So, yeah. Just as an FYI.

80. When Amara got sniped by every Angel in Heaven (and ofc survived, duh), Dean got "seasick" and when Cas came he let Cas "examine" him (other than letting him take his temperature bc that's measured rectally normally).

81. Dean was much more comfortable with Cas' and his' profound bond than he was with Amara's forced bond through the Mark Of Cain. He was literally terrified with Amara whereas he felt really connected to Cas already.

82. When Dean, Sam and Cas went to the past, Cas got wounded severely by time travel so what did Dean do? Book him the Honeymoon Suite and let him rest there because he wanted him to be better again.

83. They spent Valentine's Day together in a cute restaurant (because they had to find bad Cupid but that's beside the point). (I swear to science, I can't with these two at this point. I'm gonna cry )

84. Dean dreamed and when Cas appeared, he didn't think it to be weird. He was fishing in his dream bc he thinks it's like meditating (which means he can lucid dream).

85. Dean doesn't know personal space anymore even though HE was "bothered" by Cas' close proximity.

86. Even in unprompted moments, Dean always watches Cas to make sure he is there/agrees/hears what's going on.

87. Dean empathizes with Cas' daddy issues because John was a deadbeat dad and knows what pain Cas is going through.

88. Dean defends Cas so many times, I lost count.

89. Dean trusted Cas with the Samulet (the only thing he had from Sam and valued more than anything at the time). He gave it back to him later on.

90. Dean could sense Cas' presence without seeing him first. (It kinda got dimmed down a bit).

91. After Dean and Cas got out of Purgatory 2.0. Dean looked at Cas to make sure he REALLY got out this time. That he is REALLY next to him and not stuck in Purgatory like the first time.

92. After Dean almost killed Cas after their fight during his MOC time, he got super angry that he beat Cas up. He trashed the whole motel room and got disappointed about his own actions towards HIS Angel. The one, who made him believe.

93. Dean showed him where The Colt is. That's why Cas could take it from him. Because he trusted him the most.

94. When human!Cas looked for shelter in the Men Of Letters bunker Dean had to kick him out to protect Sam. Later on he apologized for kicking him out because he was wrong about "Ezekiel" and he could've helped Cas find a home after his Falling.

95. Dean seeked approval of Jack's real return after Jack came back to the bunker when he died in the hands of Chuck.

96. Dean smiled like he had desire for Cas while Cas took off his blue Gas 'n' Sip vest. The same smile can be seen when he looks at pie.

97. Dean also liked how Cas took out a rose and came up with this on his own. He couldn't let Cas go about his day after. He remained close by. In case something happened (and it did).

98. Dean and Cas drove with the Impala the morning after their dangerous encounter with the Angel of Pain. What did they do all night? We may never know. But he stayed with him to make sure he is okay.

99. When Cas understood the Death Star reference halfway, Dean was still happy because at least he understands references now.

100. Whenever Dean silently prayed to Cas (bc his rips were carved and there was no way Cas could pinpoint him on Earth) Dean's longing was so intense that Cas DID pinpoint his exact location on Earth and showed up every time he was in trouble.

And THAT'S why Dean is in love with Cas.
