NEW: Life Care Center of Athens has another senior who has tested positive for covid-19 today. This brings the total to five cases at this location.

The first three dates below are when employees at Life Care in Athens tested positive. The two residents had their positive results come in today and Tuesday.

1st associate: 4/12
2nd associate: 4/20
3rd associate: 4/22
1st resident: 4/21
2nd resident: 4/23

Life Care says they alerted Tennessee Department of Health immediately to these positive test results. So why is this Athens location not on the state’s list of nursing homes with an outbreak? Does the state have an accurate grip on the number of cases in Tennessee nursing homes?

These are questions I’ve been asking the state health department and Governor Lee’s office for two days now. The health department told me last night and this morning they were looking into it. They just said Governor Lee’s office would give me an answer today.
