The real reason why I kinda fell off from poetry is bc though winning BNV was an awesome thing... it was a very draining experience. The final stage was on the anniversary of my friend’s death. She died on the way home from the previous competition... it was a lot for me

There was also a lot of triggering drama that ensued in San Francisco... and then forward arts lost funding a year or so later... so there’s that.
