Don& #39;t always believe when pastors say "actually, that English word means X in Greek/Hebrew".

Sometimes there are multiple definitions and there can be much scholarly debate.

Now, it& #39;s easy to look it up for yourself online for free.

Complementarian pastors tried to trick me.
For instance, I was told the word "submission" in Ephesians 5:22 meant:

"A Greek military term meaning "to arrange [troop divisions] in a military fashion under the command of a leader"." But the alternative meaning is...
"In non-military use, it was "a voluntary attitude of giving in, cooperating, assuming responsibility, and carrying a burden."

PLUS "submission" (Hupotasso in Greek) doesn& #39;t even exist in Eph 5:22 it& #39;s implied from vs. 21 talking about MUTUAL submission.

That pretty much changes the whole meaning! Now the passage is talking about mutual submission of all believers, giving very little instructions to wives, and a heck ton of verses about how husbands need to learn to submit.

Tricky. Tricky.
Oh! And, they changed Junia the well known female apostle in the New Testament to a man& #39;s name or used the woman& #39;s name but said she wasn& #39;t actually an apostle.

Patriarchy be sly, yall! Watch out or they& #39;ll keep you in spiritual and relational shackles.
