Today we extend heartfelt congratulations to our fearless leader, team captain and graduating senior Alyssa Canova.

Alyssa’s accolades from the last 3 years include the first person from UL to qualify for the AMCA national tournament twice, the first to win a 1st place speaker award, the first to win a 1st place speaker award 2 years in a row, and she advanced to elimination rounds 10 times!

This year, with co-counsel Sophia Cefolia, she won 4th place in the national appellate brief writing competition this year, advanced to finals twice, and won 4 top 10 speaker awards.

In addition to her personal success, her leadership has helped us to continue to grow our program. She spearheaded the campaign to make the moot court team an official campus organization and helped everyone continue to grow and become the best advocates they could be.

Since she already made it Facebook official, I’m happy to share that Alyssa evaluated all of her law school offers and decided to accept admission and a full tuition scholarship to New York Law School!
