Andrew Cuomo taking down Trump one day, Mitch McConnell the next. Reminding us that not all Democrats bring knives to gunfights with Republicans. His politics are wayyy too rightwing for me but who can honestly say that he wouldn’t do a better job than Biden against Trump in Nov?

I’d love a Democratic candidate with progressive politics, who supports Medicare for All and taking on corporations.

But against Trump, what I believe the Democrats need *more than anything else* right now is a fighter. A competent, outspoken, no holds-barred brawler if need be.

One of the reasons I thought Bernie would have made such a good Democratic opponent for Trump is that he’s both got great populist progressive policies and he knows how to fight and be plainspoken/outspoken/blunt with the right and with Trump.

Btw to be clear, some of Cuomo’s policy positions are horrific and indefensible:
