I’ve never seen a lot of the great movies. Recently people have been listing their top 5 movies they think are perfect. There were a few universally loved movies that made many people’s lists, so I’m going to watch them during quarantine. I watched two last night and they sucked.
The French Connection (1971).
A good alt title for this could have been: “The Normal Drug Bust”
If you love The French Connection I am impressionable and willing to be convinced but:
1. Did they not know how to do fake blood in movies yet?
2. Do we need the first hour of this movie?
3. Is there something special about those guys being French?
I wanted to love this movie because Cher is divine but: Moonstruck (1987) you guys... no good.
Moonstruck:
A lot of sweet scenes, this might work better as a play or musical, every highschool would do it. And you wouldn’t have to make the scenes much longer it might be good to go as is!
Nicholas cage is fun and I like his teeth from this era!
