I've made it clear I support your right to choose your own path. But I can't pretend I'm not dismayed that so many people in my sphere are maintaining a stance of absolute intransigence at a time there's nothing to be gained by doing so.
Refusal to vote won't make the establishment acquiesce, not only because we — disorganized and scattered — don't have enough power right now to force their hand,
but because the alternative at THIS MOMENT in history is simply too fucking awful to make any threat you can muster up meaningful.
Yeah, I know. I get it. It's never the "right time." I know.

But if you can't look at the anti-science, proto-fascistic, utterly chaotic administration in power and realize even a suited centrist would do a better job...I'm not sure what to tell you.
There is a reason your leftists comrades are speaking this way. All of them.

That doesn't mean I won't stop trying to clean the shit out of my own house.
“Lesser evilism is not an illusion; it’s a rational position. But you don’t stop with lesser evilism. You begin with it, to prevent the worst, and then you go on to deal with the fundamental roots of what’s wrong, even with the lesser evils.”

It was @DougHenwood’s post that inspired this thread today, actually.
If we can’t be honest with fellow leftists, we’re sunk.
Thank you, @franifio
