Sachin was the first product of economically liberalised India. He became the only icon of a generation of young Indians with humble beginnings who wanted to unshackle themselves of the perceived limitations of past generations and assert themselves as the new achievers.

Sachin became the symbol of a new self confident India that made efforts to break through and earn it’s place & respect in the world. He also became the games first and only global icon.

Back then Sachin had an extraordinary influence over the mood of the nation.Harsha Bhogle once rightly said "When Sachin bats well, India sleeps well"
