@dannywallace This is likely to be a thread...

I am key worker for kids in care & care leavers

1. Stop saying how bored everyone! Some of us are working & really stressed. We will NOT be learning the flute

2. Take a look at who the key workers are & see how many are on zero https://twitter.com/dannywallace/status/1253370663106199553
hours contracts & minimum wage. How many are immigrants? When this is over. Remember.

3. Residential care workers work for private companies. They are v low paid but high risk. PPE is less profit. How can we help? Because of the buses are now not running at night here
one worker I know is having to pay ÂŁ65 a week in taxis.

4. There are often local support groups of you look. Volunteer. Donate. It does make a difference. We are already looking at helping this carer & others locally

5. If there is no local support group then write to
your neighbours & offer to help. It might only be a chat on the phone. It might be swapping DVDs. Just putting a smile on each other’s faces. Even better- set up a support group. Other support groups will help.

6. Just be nice to each other. No one knows what each other
are going through but we are all scared & unsettled. We have an opportunity to be better people & think of others.

7. My mum is sewing cloth bags for NHS staff so they can wash used clothes without touching them.

8. If you are out and about - the quiet roads do NOT
mean you can drive at twice the speed limit. You are risking the lives of key workers & it’s really scary

9. Don’t laugh at our selfie haircuts!!!

10. I said this would be a thread. Sorry.

Summary = #BeKind #StaySafe
Should clarify! I am not on minimum wage or zero hour contract!!

But I have friends who are. And they work far harder than me.
