I'm very curious re the low trust in broadcast journalism re Corona, following multiple polls. And although it's disproportionately among Conservatives and Leavers, it's very negative right across the board (and no sign of age, gender or class differences)

Theories? Trust has been falling for a while but it hasn't been talked about much. This is supported by data (HT @chriscurtis94) – indeed it's striking how steep the decline has been – but it seems unlikely that that's the whole story

I do wonder whether the public feels that this situation is basically a war, and therefore expects the media to be supportive of the government. That might explain the below (which I've also seen signs of in open text polling) in response to media scrutiny https://twitter.com/chriscurtis94/status/1253365125370822663
They are certainly behaving that way when it comes to VI and personal ratings (IMO yet another reason why VI is valuable even now, despite plenty of claims to the contrary)
This is one (not necessarily representative) example, but it’s interesting to consider whether the perceived hostility of TV journalists is the common theme https://twitter.com/tnewtondunn/status/1253441476404674560
