Since I recieved so many questions regarding #COVID19 related changes to the life support algorithms from @American_Heart here is a summary of the changes:
1. Emphasis on PPE prior to any patient contact, staff safety takes priority here.

2. In adult resus, consider appropriateness of resus, if not likely to survive, do not attempt.
3. Ventilation should always be done with a bag-valve mask with a HEPA filter ( picture attached)

4. A tight Seal to face while using BVM should be maintained to avoid dispersing of aerosols during ventilation/compressions.
5. In Adult ACLS algorithm, intubation should take precedence after the first AED analysis/Shock
5. In Adult ACLS algorithm, intubation should take precedence after the first AED analysis/Shock
6. Intubation should only be attempted if likely to be successful to avoid unnecessary dispersing of aerosols. Use the intubation tool that is most likely to succeed and preferably always use video guided intubation.
