Not so long ago I suggested that I'd been told that the chief exec of the PL was 'bricking it'. Now I think we see why. He, like many in the game, knew what was coming in terms of pressure, politics and PR. Been a rough start in post for the bloke with Covid too!
I personally see nothing in any way to prevent the PL from doing anything other than passing this BY THEIR OWN RULES. As someone just told me it's like they are having to find a reason to pass them that will appease these people who are effectively sticking their nose into it
I am sure going into the tests this would all have been considered and more. And we will have continued noise from organisations who gain good PR for their own position by being seen to do the 'right thing'. This is not to belittle their concerns or what they do. And nor should
We. Going forward these are conversations we will continue to need to engage with. But football is not here to solve the world. The PL have rules that simply will be applied and none or what is mentioned affects those rules as I see it. I am led to believe both buyer and seller..
... have already put legal teams on stand by weeks ago to challenge any failure of the test. This isn't a fight the PL want or can afford. Especially now. But you see why someone was indeed 'bricking it'
