Lacazette was signed for a then club record fee of €53M, supposedly to upgrade on Olivier Giroud

Since then, in 3 seasons Lacazette has scored LESS goals than Giroud had in the 3 seasons prior to Lacazette's arrival

Downgrade.

Since Lacazette joined, Arsenal have never played in the Champions League

This is largely thanks to a number of big games Lacazette bottled, including a sitter at the death of the North London derby, semi final vs Atletico, and last year's final vs Chelsea

Lacazette was so obviously lacking that 6 months after signing him, we brought in a real goalscorer in Aubameyang, who has gone on to blast Lacazette's goal record out the water, despite the latter having had a 6 month head start

In fact Lacazette was SO poor in his first season that Aubameyang gave him a sympathy penalty vs Stoke to boost his confidence

Never seems short of confidence when it comes to trying to steal a teenager's thunder though

Giroud has won more World Cups than Lacazette has had international caps since he joined Arsenal

Giroud also won the Ligue 1 with Montpellier, while Lacazette never even challenged with superior Lyon

Giroud > Lacazette in every department

Overall Lacazette massively holds back the entire team whenever he plays, since superior striker Aubameyang is forced out wide to accommodate an inferior player

Because Lacazette has been such an underwhelming striker, his fanboys have attempted to rebrand him as a "false 9" or "defensive striker" or whatever to distract from the fact he simply doesn't score enough goals

Lacazette was supposed to end the #9 curse at Arsenal, instead he's proving the curse is very much alive
