My favorite day of the year! #WorldBookDay! In honour of it, I’m going to list some of my favorite books. This will be a thread.

Winnie The Pooh:

Probably one of my all time favorite books. I have it memorized. Just such a lovely, imaginative tale that I could read over and over again.
The Voyages of Doctor Dolittle:

Once again, a book that I could read over and over again. Not only are the characters amazing, the worlds well developed and thrilling, but it has an important message about environmentalism and respecting animals.
Pollyanna:

Another classic. A sweet slice of life book about an orphan moving in with her Aunt and teaching them about looking on the bright side of things. It shows the importance of recognizing the things you can be glad about.
Monstrous Regiment:

This is a wonderful read by Terry Pratchett, and it’s chalk full of feminism, criticism of gender roles, and LGBT+ characters. It adresses the futility of war, dealing with addiction, and the lasting effects of abuse.
Fool:

Based on King Lear and Macbeth, but focusing on the perspective of the court jester, this book is funny, irreverent, often lewd, and all around just a jolly good read. Shakespeare would be proud.
The Thrilling Adventures of Lovelace and Babbage:

I’m not much one for comics, but this one is really hard to resist. I knew Ada and Charles, so this was a particularly funny read. It’s informative, imaginative, and mostly based on history. It also has tremendous footnotes.
The Miracle of The Lily:

Women invented science fiction, and women write some of the best. Unfortunately, astounding authors like Clare Winger Harris often get swept under the carpet. The Miracle of The Lily is a wonderful short story, and I highly recommend it.
Dune:

Dune throws you into it’s richly imagined world blind, refusing to spoon feed you information. This allows you to discover the planet Arrakis at the same pace as Paul. It’s full of twists, astounding world building, and beautifully writian characters.
