I& #39;m threading together old tweets about bullet journaling/scheduling, mostly for my own interest

Please ignore if you don& #39;t care ;)

Fall 2018 I was using day-by-day reverse scheduling. I actually kind of miss this, maybe I should try it again... https://twitter.com/mayhplumb/status/1048239390127022082">https://twitter.com/mayhplumb...
I think I started playing with weekly layouts in Spring 2019 but I don& #39;t have pictures (those notebooks are at the office)

But Fall 2019 I was using this weekly layout... https://twitter.com/mayhplumb/status/1196466214865920001">https://twitter.com/mayhplumb...
... and filling up boxes with the number of hours I worked in different categories (I have always favored a color-by-day approach to color coordinating) https://twitter.com/mayhplumb/status/1215711834038308865">https://twitter.com/mayhplumb...
Side note #1: this thread has notes about note-taking

I don& #39;t see myself switching away from the Leuchtturm1917 any time soon, I love them https://twitter.com/mayhplumb/status/1224462332639809537">https://twitter.com/mayhplumb...
Side note #2: Waterproof pens are important in my life

I& #39;ve been trying to find a good smearproof highlighter, hmu with recommendations https://twitter.com/mayhplumb/status/1234569601486393345">https://twitter.com/mayhplumb...
Spring 2020 I switched to a weekly layout with an hour-by-hour schedule. I also started recording accomplishments rather than making checklists, to try and keep my focus positive
March 2020, weeks 3&4 of work from home: I tried scheduling hour-long blocks of work time

This worked well in week 3, and totally fell apart in week 4 :) https://twitter.com/mayhplumb/status/1245839838164725760">https://twitter.com/mayhplumb...
Weeks 3&4 of WFH, I also tried assigning myself 12 key hour-long tasks to focus on (a theoretically manageable number based on my free hours per week)
March 2020, Week 5 of WFH: I abandoned the hourly schedule, but kept the "Key Tasks". It worked ok (for that week, anyway, wfh is a struggle y& #39;all) https://twitter.com/mayhplumb/status/1250827187923693571">https://twitter.com/mayhplumb...
^ lol the above schedule was in April, I& #39;m real good at time right now, obv

This week, April 2020, Week 6 of ProjectPandemicWFH2020: I am using this layout which I hate and will not be using again. It& #39;s just ugly.
Week 10 of WFH — I am VERY happy with this new weekly layout!
Side note #3: For a long time I tracked my time with Boosted, which I still appreciate as a nice simple app

But in early July I started using Toggl — I don& #39;t like the mobile app as much, but the web app is really nice and it has some more robust features

Week 25 of WFH, Year 4 of grad school, shifting into ABD-land... I& #39;m thinking a lot about how to structure my time!

One change I& #39;ve made recently is I plan my daily to-do& #39;s for the whole week in advance

I wrote a blog post about my new system → http://www.mayhplumb.com/blog/2020/09/04/transition-to-dissertation/">https://www.mayhplumb.com/blog/2020...
It& #39;s Friday, so I& #39;m trying to make my schedule for next week

which is week 34 of WFH
week 11 of Fall 2020
the week of Election Day…

Having trouble deciding how much to put down! Planning ahead has helped me motivate myself day-of, but I don& #39;t want to overwhelm myself this week
