Arnab Goswami moves Supreme Court for quashing FIRs against him.

Bench of justices DY Chandrachud and MR Shah to hear the case tomorrow.

Goswami has prayed that no coercive measures should be taken on FIRs registered against him in Maharashtra, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Jammu.

He has submitted that action against him is an attempt to curb free speech and freedom of press under Article 19(1)(a) of the Constitution.

Interestingly, Arnab Goswami has stated that Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir are under Congress rule.

Besides, the Union Home Ministry has been made a party to the case because Arnab is seeking Central govt protection for himself and family as well as Republic TV offices in Delhi and Mumbai.

Arnab has submitted before Supreme Court that contrary to the allegations against him, he is strongly opposed to communal politics and has used the platform of Republic TV to foster communal harmony.
