There are 25,739 cases in Louisiana and 6,263 in Orleans Parish as of 12 PM. That's an increase of 1.9% and 0.9% respectively since yesterday. Cases in Orleans Parish have grown by double digits in 11 of the last 12 days.
Cases rolling over 7 days in Orleans and statewide remain steady but well below peak.
Deaths increased by 67 statewide and by 20 in Orleans Parish. I'm guessing much of this is a backlog of old deaths being cleared because of how different this trend is from the NOPD data which is more real time.
No change in the trend of cases by date of onset of symptoms. Peak on March 26 and a slow and steady decline on the other end with data through 4/11.
No new commercial testing data but state lab testing data (more serious cases, quicker return of results) paints a familiar picture of peak and slow decline.
The number of people in the hospital and on ventilators both fell again. Both metrics are in steady decline.
I think at least 13 of the new deaths reported today occurred before April 10. Each day they revise upward the number of deaths by day reported. Yesterday there were 980 through 4/10, today 993.
