no one asked for this but i’m bored so

Madonna’s discography, ranked ✨ :
14. MDNA (2012)
This album is just a mess. Some songs even verge on unbearable. The songwriting is average at best and the production is grating at times. However, the good tracks are some of her best.
Top 3: I’m Addicted, Masterpiece, Gang Bang
Worst Song: B-Day Song
13. Like a Virgin (1984):
Contains some of her most well known hits, but it sounds dated and impersonal. Not cohesive, but has it had it’s fun moments.
Top 3: Angel, Dress You Up, Material Girl
Worst Song: Shoo-Be-Doo
12. Hard Candy (2008):
Would be excellent if it was produced differently. Some of the deeper cuts are gorg, but the production is extremely dated, and some songs are just plain cringe (cough... Incredible)
Top 3: Miles Away, She’s Not Me, Voices
Worst Song: Spanish Lesson
11. Madonna (1983):
The album that started it all. It’s not bad at all, it’s just not as cohesive and personal as her later albums, but it will always be special
Top 3: Burning Up, Think of Me, Borderline
Worst Song: I Know It
10. Madame X (2019):
Left field and experimental. It’s good to see her working with Mirwais again. A few messy tracks. Political, emotional, avant-garde, this is a direction i hope she continues to follow.
Top 3: God Control, I Don’t Search I Find, Dark Ballet
Worst Song: Crazy
9. Rebel Heart (2015):
Not bad at all, but not up to her standards. If some songs got taken off it would be miles better. Some beautiful songwriting, a lot of the bonus tracks are better than standard ones.
Top 3: Messiah, Wash All Over Me, Joan of Arc
Worst Song: Body Shop
8. True Blue (1986):
Here she started taking control and advancing her artistry. Still sounds fresh today. Made the world take her more seriously. Beginning of her artistic prime
Top 3: Live to Tell, Open Your Heart, Love Makes the World Go Round
Worst Song: Jimmy Jimmy
7. Bedtime Stories (1994):
Incredibly chill and beautiful. She’s at her best singing a ballad and this is full of them. She showed her softer side in this album. Criminally overlooked by the general public.
Top 3: Sanctuary, Take a Bow, Bedtime Story
Worst Song: Don’t Stop
6. Like a Prayer (1989):
Iconic and Legendary. She took complete control and made one of her most personal albums ever. Some of her greatest songwriting to date. Still referenced by other artists today.
Top 3: Till Death Do Us Part, Oh Father, Like a Prayer
Worst Song: Love Song
5. Music (2000):
Mixes country and electronica, the production is other-worldly. The iconic Cowgirl image she used has been recreated by many artists. An underrated album by the public AND fans.
Top 3: Paradise (Not for Me), Gone, WIFLFAG
Worst Song: American Pie
4. Confessions on a Dance Floor (2005):
Legendary comeback. Features the best production of any of her albums. Cohesive and sonically orgasmic. Sometimes questionable songwriting.
Top 3: Future Lovers, Get Together, Sorry
Worst Song: I Love New York
3. American Life (2003):
CRIMINALLY underrated and overlooked. So personal. The ballads are stunning. Folk guitars and electronica. Deserved so much better, slandered by almost everyone.
Top 3: Nothing Fails, X-Static Process, Intervention
Worst Song: I’m So Stupid (still slaps)
2. Erotica (1992):
Her boldest ever move with an album. Touched on subjects people rarely even mentioned. Personal & sensual; She wasn’t afraid to embrace her sexuality during a conservative time. Deserved better.
Top 3: Bad Girl, In This Life, Waiting
Worst Song: Did You Do It?
1. Ray of Light (1998):
Her magnum opus. Ethereal, spiritual and euphoric. The songwriting is exquisite. Her greatest example of reinvention and brought electronica into the mainstream. One of the greatest albums ever made.
Top 3: Swim, Mer Girl, Skin
Worst Song: Little Star
