It’s been one year since I lost my dad. The last thing he ever asked of me was not to cry over him. So instead I’m gonna both embarrass myself by posting a comic I made like 10 years ago and celebrate some of the reasons i was so lucky he was my dad cause that’s what it’s about.
I made this comic about 10 years ago after I called my dad and, super nervously, asked how bad of an idea it would be to try to be creative for a living, expecting he’d encourage me to be more practical, but he did the opposite and it changed everything.
His support was a turning point in my life, led me to game dev, which led to books and comics and seeing the world. He could do that for some people with one conversation. He didn’t just build Harleys, he built up the people around him.
Anyway. This is overly sentimental and forgive the old art, but it felt like a better way to process than being really really sad all day.
hopefully that balances out the fact that I still cry about him a lot but I managed to not do it in front of him so I feel like that’s partial credit
so idk. If you’ve enjoyed any of the games, comics, books, or anything I’ve made, thank my dad a little today
