Two pieces of Labour foreign policy history arrived today: Dick Crossman and Michael Foot's pamphlet urging creation of a state of Israel and a signed copy of Harold Wilson's book on the history of the UK/US's involvement in the state of Israel's creation and early decades.
Crossman and Foot wrote that the creation of a Palestinian state 'to satisfy the Arab League...leaving Jews in a permanent minority...is indefensible on moral, legal, and utilitarian grounds'. The days when the Labour Left stood on the other side of the issue!
Crossman and Foot include in their recommendations 'a scheme of partition which establishes a Judean State, into which there can be unrestricted Jewish immigration up to the full absorptive capacity of the country'.
