I've been critical of @fordnation & @celliottability due to a lack of planning for #COVID19 & little foresight for patient care.

Now, they have unilaterally forced a loan onto @OntariosDoctors.

These are taxpayer dollars, @ONgov, think about what this means.

If @OntariosDoctors receive support, it needs to be done thoughtfully with both parties agreeing to it. Taxpayers and patients deserve no less than this.

This has been forced on to us. We have not agreed to it's terms or conditions. We don't know what they are. Is this legal?

The loan appears in a bank account. Unable to stop it.

I raise this as the support you offer may, paradoxically, cause many of us to close sooner as we now have no choice but to plan paying for a loan whose conditions we don't know or payment schedule, set by you, is unknown.

The closure would be to minimize expenses now to pay back such a loan that you forced in the future. When things 'open up' again, patients will slowly come in. Patient volumes will remain low. Clinics will not have the funding to pay back this loan in light of this.

If you bankrupt clinics, how will they pay back these loans?

More importantly, how will patients get care if there is no clinic there?

You've done this in addition to refusing to pay doctors for 3-4 mos for services already done. Virtual visits. Screening clinics. Not paid.

You've done this by refusing to pay specialists for specialty care that has been provided. Payments you agreed to.

You've done this by failing to plan for PPE to protect health care workers.

Patients and Doctors are beside themselves for the disregard that you've shown for patient care and taxpayer dollars.

My laboratory, a pulmonary lab, has closed. My clinic is next on the chopping block.

My #pulmonary patients will face a real dilemma when that happens.

@ONThealth doesn't care about patients.

If you did, you would have thought this through and worked with us.
