In describing #wordembeddings to sociologists unfamiliar (disinterested?) with #computationalsociology, do I need to get the reader on board with the idea of words as vectors? Thoughts @DustinStoltz @LauraK_Nelson @chris_bail

Some people are not mathy. Thinking I can convey the hermeneutic potential of embeddings' multidimensionality and view of context similarity without needing them to grasp the geometry of it all. Some people hear geometry and run, including some cultural sociologists!
