Department of Labor reports Nevada had 40,909 initial claims for unemployment in the week ending April 18. That's down 17,732 from the week prior.

So far, there have been 349,431 initial claims for unemployment in Nevada since mid-March

That figure represents about 22 percent of Nevada's workforce, which is about 1,563,400
