One thing that never fails to both amaze and amuse me, is how all these people will say 'Mainlanders are ignorant about the NE', but then turn around and demonstrate their complete ignorance about every state that isn't theirs within the region. https://roundtableindia.co.in/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=9880%3Ais-there-a-space-for-north-eastern-identity-among-students-politics-in-indian-universities&catid=119%3Afeature&Itemid=132
Like if you want to characterise 'Northeasterners' as 'mostly Christian and Buddhist' or whatever, you're pretty much ignoring the existence of Assam which dwarfs the other NE states by population.
The Muslim population of Assam (and Muslims are a minority in the mainly Hindu state) itself outnumbers the entire Christian population of NE India.
