Why can't we condition bailout money for big companies on them showing they meet these criteria: they haven't done stock buybacks in recent years, no new stock buybacks, no layoffs of employees, mandatory cuts in executive pay during the crisis? Otherwise, who are we helping? https://twitter.com/Public_Citizen/status/1253323257492561926
We have people wondering how they'll afford food and rent. Trump's campaign donors want to send folks back to work where they'll speed the spread of the virus, which will only crash the economy. The solution is to give money TO THE PEOPLE WHO NEED IT, not to corporate executives.
And any bailout for corporations with our tax dollars should be strictly capped at whatever amount the corporation paid in taxes last year. No taxes, no bailout.
