HOW JB5 ERA SHOULD'VE LOOKED LIKE, A THREAD:
As you all know, JB5 was one of the most anticipated albums since 2015. With the huge success of Purpose and all collaborations Justin was part of after, GP was very excited to see how will the album look now that Justin is married and that he promised an R&B album.
Locals were VERY excited about the album. So, what went wrong? I'll break it down to components:
1. Yummy as lead + begging.
Honestly, Yummy isn't that bad. It's a fun song to dance to, not every song has to be deep. But it wasn't lead single material. Even so, the problem is not
Yummy itself, but everything about its release. Yummy was mentioned a lot in Justin's IG stories and posts but it never had proper promo. Then the song dropped and JB did the worst thing possible, BEGGED for sales and streams which was an invite to all the hate song recieved.
TikTok promo was a good idea, but TikTok can't be the ONLY promo. Compared to WDYM which had all kind of celebrities promoting it a whole month before release, it is obvious why WDYM did amazing and Yummy... not so much. What caused such a downgrade in Justin's team?
Let's continue with best candidate for lead single: Intentions. Despite all the hate, song is VERY stable in sales and streams (and once again JB's team is giving it 0 promo), but imagine the power it would had if the stability of Intentions and radio play of Yummy combined.
Intentions has a good meaning, amazing music video and it's overall catchy earworm that people expected from someone as respected and popular as Justin. With even just the half of planned promo WDYM had, Intentions had a chance to become biggest song of 2020 and future SOTY/ROTY.
2. Justin's appearance.
As sad as it is, physical appearance makes a HUGE role in your music, especially if you started your career as a beautiful person whose fanbase has a lot of teenage audience. Justin is one of the hottest men alive but his looks for Changes era weren't it.
Mustache, hair and clothes weren't good. I'm a huge Justin stan and I will love him however he looked, but if he is planning to make a comeback era, everything needs to be perfect, including him. I'm suprised he started an era like that while claiming to be perfectionist.
His looks + his acne caused people (mostly stan twitter) to mock him. It's not right in any way but it could've been prevented. If Justin wasn't in the right place to start an era, he could've waited. We as fans waited for 4 years, we could've waited another few months.
Which leads me to
3. Rushed era.
Yummy was released January 3rd and the album February 14th. That's only one month and it was way too soon. Proper rollout would be
A) lead single
B) after 2-3 months 2nd single
C) album + 3rd single
D) a lot of promo inbetween

Changes had none.
And now instead of promoting Intentions and making Forever a 3rd single (song has almost 100m streams as non single), Justin is already recording and planning a release for a new album which will only make Changes underperform even more because people will focus on the new album.
4. This may be the most important thing: SPREADING LIES.
Justin is recieving hate his entire life so when he left SG and married Hailey, he became a sitting duck to angry SG and TS fans who have spread many lies about him that went viral and his team never defended him.
And Justin is well aware these things are happening but his team is mute and it seems Justin isn't allowed to defend himself because he did once and his tweet got deleted. Go figure.
5. The documentary.
Oh, I had so much hope in this. Brilliant thing actually, to show audience Justin's life, struggles and process of creating. And it did, seemingly. Yet it lacked something. Maybe it wasn't promoted enough, maybe it should've been one piece over hour long-
-intead of 10 videos of 10 minutes and maybe it shouldn't be on YouTube Premium. And I say this is in the nicest way possible, but it didn't victimize Justin enough. I know Justin doesn't like to portray himself as helpless victim, but he IS a victim. A victim of bullying, abuse,
defamation, he was poor, he had drug and sex problems, he was harrassed his entire life and it all deserved to be publicly talked about. Justin deserved to publicly say it and make everyone who bullied him think twice. We could've lost Justin years ago, he should've said it.
6. Social media.
In the time social media rules everything, Justin should be careful with his posts. He spams too much so his audience doesn't engage with him. He should have his IG and Twitter feed spam free so when he drops something, people will actually see it.
I think that's all for now, at least the biggest stuff. I'd love to if you tagged Scooter here so he sees that we're not happy and he doesn't repeat same mistakes. I would suggest hiring several beliebers in his PR team because we are making smth out of this badly planned era.
