I used to be a big fan of the NFL. Living in Detroit (tired of the Same Old Lions routine) and being pretty busy on Sundays has changed that passion. But occassionally I recall living near Pittsburgh and in Wisconsin and remember what passionate fandom is about!
As a kid my dad had Lions season tickets at the Silverdome and I got to go to 3 or 4 games a year. It was a great thrill. Face value of the tickets was $10 for lower bowl seats! Since moving back 20 years ago to a parish 2 blocks from Ford Field I have been to 1 Lions game
And that 1 Lions game I have been to in Ford Field since it opened was bc @A_Kelly13 wanted to go for his birthday and @davidjkelly got us free tickets. The “Fire Millan” chant was invented at that game and was the highlight of the outing
As a reference my church is also next to Comerica Park and I get to 50 to 65 games a year, and 25 or so events a year at Little Caesar Arena across the freeway the other direction. At Ford Field I have been for 1 lions game, 1 college game, and 2 @OLSMFootball games.
I volunteer at @ComericaPark and @LCArena_Detroit with @delawarenorth to support the non-profit work of @extremegymusa booster club which accounts for most of my attendance at those places.
