Possible thread: Alright ive been thinkin, I figured out how Sonic can be not just good, but GREAT. Lets look the great elements this series has. People have been longing for that ambition that the older games have had. (1/?)

The "dark age" games were trying to be its own thing, and thats good! The people who were making these games still CARED. Now these games couldve been pretty good and all around more well recieved if they had one thing that they were missing. (2/?)

What theyre missing was something that the 2010s games have had, actual polish. Say what you want about the 2010s games, they are all pretty good from a TECHNICAL standpoint. The major problem with the "dark age" games was that they were pretty buggy and not very refined. (3/?)

Now for Sonic to be GREAT, they need to take the AMBITION of the dark age and the POLISH of the Post Colors era and put them into one. They can do it. They just need to stop playing it so safe. Sega is scared to be ambitious again. But their can be so much potential from this.

The reason Sonic was so much more popular back in the 90s was because THEY HAD THIS. Sonic was like no other game from before. The classics were ambitious and polished. Now dont get me wrong, I love all eras of sonic. But we cant deny Sonic was at his strongest in the 90s.
