I become libertarian when I see people's resourcefulness around stupid rules.
Seriously this is what Libertarians get absolutely right: People are resourceful, especially when faced with obstacles placed on them by the powerful

You see it every day in poor communities who are forced to improvise, or jerry-rig stuff

And then they are mocked by rich for it
Libertarian impulse to recognize people's resourcefulness & consequently minimize regulation seems to only get enacted for powerful.

Big business is deregulated while the poor are over-regulated.

The deregulation of Wall Street happened at same time as Broken Windows policy
I wrote about this absurd duality in an old Atlantic piece, but without the Libertarian framing
This Libertarian values for the rich, but not for the poor, is why so many people are frustrated with Libertarians

Their views only seem to get turned into policy for rich. That should concern them.
