I feel badly for the RCMP officers getting pilloried over communications. The RCMP is full of incredibly fine people, that I highly respect, but the organization is notoriously bureaucratically dysfunctional.

It is a systemic problem. Same reason Bridgewater needed to get own police dog, and Halifax their own armour vehicle. The management system of the national organization struggles to adapt to the rhythm of local policing. It's sad that such a tragedy is shining a light on this
