Daimler becomes the latest company to kill its hydrogen fuel cell car programme because the economics and poor efficiency will simply never make sense. #H2FC https://electrek.co/2020/04/22/daimler-ends-hydrogen-car-development-because-its-too-costly/">https://electrek.co/2020/04/2...
Meanwhile, putting serious firepower behind H2FC trucks by teaming up with Volvo makes sense. Short-range trucking is going electric, but long range hydrogen trucks have a chance of working (vs bio or synthetic fuels, BEV/pantograph combos, or trains). https://www.ft.com/content/302431ed-dedc-4f18-ae71-21e89d5d4f6e">https://www.ft.com/content/3...
And adding an H2FC range extender to an electric bus or truck is also an interesting approach. My suspicion is that added complexity/loss of space means it will be a niche sport, but hey, nothing wrong with niche sports (speaking as a former mogul skier!). https://www.greencarcongress.com/2020/04/20200402-ecitarorex.html">https://www.greencarcongress.com/2020/04/2...
