I don't agree with EVERYTHING in this thread (e.g JV's helmet rules) but the basic idea of helmets being simple, clever pieces of design as opposed 'throwing everything at it' monsters stands
It's kind of like when digital graphics for computers/devices went super into skeumorphic design before they went back to simple, clear designs of the modern digital age
