There's something I find interesting about America. It's how kids follow their parents into their business and try to grow it and expand rather than go off to do something else that's new. That continuity.
I'm doing research into Waste Mgt Inc. one of the largest waste management companies in America. The founder Wayne Huizenga was born in Illinois. The part that drove this thread. His grandfather was a Dutch immigrant. Started trash hauling with horse and wagon.
His father did real estate contracting but grew the garbage hauling business, using motor wagons. He himself after stints in the army moved to Florida and started his own garbage hauling business in 1962. That company became a Fortune 500 company and made him a billionaire.
There are plenty of American businesses like that. Do we have these kind of stories in Nigeria? Or is our history not yet long enough?
